Sheila Brown Hayfin

Sheila Pejavar Brown, Managing Director, Hayfin

Ms. Pejavar Brown is a Managing Director within the Business Development team at Hayfin, focused on UK and Irish clients.

Prior to joining Hayfin, Ms. Pejavar Brown spent nine years at PIMCO covering UK and Irish institutional investors and consultants for traditional and alternative fixed income. Before this, Ms. Pejavar Brown spent six years at Lehman Brothers in origination and capital markets.

Ms. Pejavar Brown holds an MBA from London Business School and graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Business Economics. She is also a CFA Charterholder.

Trevor Castledine Bfinance

Trevor Castledine, Head of Private Debt, bfinance

Trevor is a Senior Director in bfinance’s private markets team, focussing on alternative credit. He was formerly Investment Director for the Credit investments of LPPI, the investment management collaboration between Lancashire County Pension Fund and LPFA. Prior to that he was Deputy CIO at LCPF, having previously enjoyed a successful career in investment banking, rising to MD and Head of Financial Products at RBS. Whilst at LCPF, Trevor oversaw significant changes in portfolio strategy and created a new £1.5bn allocation to alternative credit. 

He has long been a champion of the inclusion of alternative investments to create efficient investment portfolios and has been recognised by numerous industry awards. In October 2018, PDI magazine named him as one of the 30 global most influential investors in private debt. Trevor is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds an MA from Cambridge University.

Nick Kitchin, Senior Investment Manager, Hilco Capital

Tim Flynn. Mr Flynn serves as Hayfin’s co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Hayfin, Mr Flynn was a Partner at Goldman Sachs, where he co-headed the European Leveraged Finance and Acquisition Finance businesses. Mr Flynn was also a member of Goldman Sachs’ firm-wide Capital Committee.

Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr Flynn was a corporate finance lawyer at Sullivan & Cromwell, a New York-based law firm. He graduated from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and an Editor of the Columbia Law Review. Mr Flynn graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science.

Tim Flynn Hayfin

Tim Flynn, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, Hayfin

Nick is a Chartered Accountant and has over 10 years’ turnaround and insolvency experience. Prior to joining Hilco in 2013, Nick worked for the Restructuring teams at Cooper Parry and EY. During this time, he worked across a range of assignments (including Dreams plc and Von Essen Hotels), gaining experience in corporate restructuring, sale processes, trading administrations, CVAs and independent business reviews. 

Nick has sector experience in retail, hotels, manufacturing, high tech and property.

David Lyon

David Lyon, Co-Head of Private Credit, Neuberger Berman

David Lyon is Co-Head of the Private Credit business for Neuberger Berman and the Portfolio Manager for The NB Credit Opportunities Funds. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, he was the Director of Research at Ellis Lake Capital, an event-driven credit hedge fund based in New York.  

Before Ellis Lake, Mr. Lyon was one of three professionals responsible for the day to day management of the Credit Opportunities Group, a multi-billion dollar portfolio of credit and equity investments at D. E. Shaw.  Previously, Mr. Lyon worked at The Cypress Group, Och-Ziff Capital Management, and Goldman Sachs.  Mr. Lyon earned a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. 

Ian Milton, Founder, Mercia Capital Partners

Ian is founder of Mercia Capital Partners, an independent fund raising adviser to alternative investment managers. In a 30 year career in client-facing roles at leading European managers, Ian has developed long-standing relationships with institutional, wealth management and family office investors and their advisers.

Since founding Mercia Capital in 2013, Ian has served as an adviser to Arbour Partners, connecting its private debt clients, such as Pemberton, Beechbrook, Venn and Monroe Capital, with UK investors. 

Nicolas Politopoulos, Co-Founder, Dinimus Capital

Nicolas Politopoulos is Co-Founder of Dinimus Capital with over 18 years of experience across capital markets, structured finance and marketing in Australia, Europe & Asia.  Nicolas was one of earliest movers into Private Debt in the Australian market following the financial crisis.

Before establishing Dinimus, Nicolas has held senior roles in Corporate Finance, and Debt Capital Markets at Citigroup, Bain & Company and worked in AMP Capital’s Institutional Sales group. His focus expertise are origination, funds management and credit assessment.

Nicolas is a committee member of AIMA’s Alternate Credit Committees (ACC) in Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Western Sydney and a Master of Business Administration from University of New England

Matthias Unser YIELCO

Matthias Unser, Founding Partner and Managing Director, YIELCO

Dr. Matthias Unser is a Founding Partner and Managing Director of YIELCO Investments AG, a Munich based funds-of-funds manager managing and advising more than EUR 1.5bn for German institutional investors. Since 2003 he was responsible for more than 60 commitments to private debt funds with a total committed capital of more than USD 1.4bn.

Matthias worked in leading roles for European funds-of-funds managers (DB Private Equity, Sal. Oppenheim Private Equity Partners; VCM Capital Management) where he was responsible for all mezzanine, distressed debt and credit opportunities funds commitments. Between 1999 and 2001 he was a Senior Consultant for Corporate Finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Finance.
