TERMS & CONDITIONS

This document sets out the terms and conditions between Investment Events Ltd (“IE”, the ” company”) and you when you purchase a ticket for An IE Virtual Event; organised by Investment Events Ltd, or participate in any related survey created by Investment Events Ltd. By purchasing a ticket or registering for this event, or participating in a related survey, you are agreeing to comply with, and be bound by, these terms and conditions. You should read this document carefully.

 

Investment Events Ltd reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Any amended terms and conditions will be posted on this website. Applicable from April 20th, 2020.

 

Conference Organiser

An IE Virtual Event is a fully online conference and is being organised by Investment Events Ltd (the “company”), a wholly UK Limited company, which is in the main business of organising tech/business conferences.

The company provides access to a technology conference hosted online that allows users to access talks, discussions and online networking opportunities streamed via the Hopin Online Event Platform  (the “Online Conference”).

These Terms govern your use of our service and access to the Online Conference. As used in these Terms (the “Service”) means the service provided by the company for watching and networking via the Online Conference, including features and functionalities, the website, and interfaces, as well as all content and software associated with our service.

 

Declaration of Content

I hereby give my consent for Investment Events Ltd (and its subsidiaries) to collect, process and use my personal data for the purposes of processing the purchase of my ticket and for any other use to which I have consented.

We are committed to protecting your personal information. These Terms include and incorporate by reference our privacy policy (listed on our website), which explains the types of information collected, stored, shared and processed in connection with the Online Conference, how and why we use such information, who we share it with and your legal rights. If you do not wish your name, photograph, country where based and company name to appear on the delegate list please email info@investmentevents.com.

 

Your agreement with us

 

These Terms govern your online registration, online attendance at and/or participation in the Online Conference. By registering for the Online Conference you agree that you have read and accepted these Terms and agree to be legally bound by them. If you do not wish to be bound by these Terms, please do not register, attend or participate in the Online Conference.

 

Registering on behalf of another

If you are registering on behalf of another person it is your obligation to make sure that the person attending is aware of these Terms and accepts them. By completing and submitting the registration form you are representing and warranting that you have made the person attending aware of these Terms and that they have accepted these Terms.

 

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, Investment Events Ltd cannot guarantee its absolute security and cannot accept any liability where the security of your Personal Information is compromised. The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (TLS/SSL).

 

Changes to the policy

Investment Events Ltd reserves the right to modify our Privacy Policy and Declaration of Consent at any time. Any changes will be posted on our homepage and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of the changes.

 

General terms for all delegates

Access to Online Conference

We, in our sole discretion, and without any liability or obligation to refund, reserve the right to refuse participation to or to remove access to the Online Conference anyone that we determine:

is behaving in a manner that could disrupt, hinder or cause a nuisance to the Online Conference or to the enjoyment of any other person or partner at the Online Conference;

represents a security or health & safety risk to the Online Conference or to any person or partner

fails to comply with, or is likely to fail to comply with, these Terms.

You agree to comply with all applicable laws in connection with your access to or participation in the Online Conference.

 

Changes or cancellation of the Online Conference

Investment Events Ltd is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a substitution, alteration, cancellation or postponement of this online conference. Investment Events Ltd shall assume no liability whatsoever in the circumstances that the online conference is cancelled, rescheduled or postponed due to a fortuitous event, Act of God, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of an event impracticable, illegal or impossible. For purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but not be limited to: war, fire, labour strike, extreme weather or other emergency.

Please note that while speakers and topics are confirmed at the time of publishing, circumstances beyond the control of the organisers may necessitate substitutions, alterations or cancellations of the speakers and/or topics. As such, Investment Events Ltd reserves the right to alter or modify the advertised speakers and/or topics if necessary without any liability to you whatsoever. Any substitutions or alterations will be updated on our web page as soon as possible. If the Online Conference is postponed, we will provide you with access to the Online Conference at a later date. No refunds will be provided if the Online Conference is postponed.

Photography, audio and video recording

By attending the Online Conference you acknowledge and agree that where you choose to participate in roundtable/workshop elements of the Online Conference you are giving the company consent to store recordings. You will receive a visual notification when recording is enabled. If you do not consent to being recorded, you can choose to leave the meeting or webinar. You agree to permit us, or any third party licensed by us, to use, distribute, broadcast, or otherwise globally disseminate your likeness, name, voice and words in perpetuity in television, radio, film, newspapers, magazines and other media now available and hereafter developed, both before, during and any time after the Online Conference, and in any form, without any further approval from you or any payment to you. This grant includes, but is not limited to, the right to edit the media, the right to use the media (alone or together with other information), and the right to allow others to use or distribute the media.

 

Special Assistance

You are responsible for advising us at the time of making your booking regarding any special access requirements you require at the Online Conference and we will endeavour to aid you as best we can.

 

Third party links

The Online Conference or the Services may contain links to third parties and to contributions uploaded by participants, including videos, images, descriptions, links and other content. We are not responsible or liable to these third party sites, and you should review any terms and conditions when entering those sites or viewing their content.

 

Personal use only

The Online Conference is for your personal and non-commercial use only. For the duration of the Online Conference we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access the Service and view the Online Conference. Except for this, no right, title or interest shall be transferred to you.

 

Usage terms

 

Access to the Online Conference and use of the Services require compatible devices, and certain software (including third party software) may be required or may need updates, and your use of the Services and Online Conference may be affected by the performance of these elements. Tips and guides on how to have the best possible experience will be provided on our website ahead of the event.

 

You must have a high speed internet connection in order to access the Online Conference and Services. When accessing the Online Conference or Services through a mobile network, your network or roaming network will apply fees for data usage.

 

Our Conference Platform

We will be hosting the online conference using the Hopin online event platform, you can view their own terms and conditions here.

 

Intellectual property rights

You acknowledge and agree that all copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in all material or content contained within the website shall remain at all times owned by us or our licensors. You are permitted to use this material only as expressly authorised by us.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted in and to the website and the content on the website.

It is strictly forbidden for any company, organisation, or person to attempt to host or organise any event in conjunction with, contiguous to or purporting to be related to the Online Conference or its affiliates without the express prior permission and cooperation of us. We reserve their right to take such action (legal or otherwise), including a claim for damages as we, in our sole discretion, deem appropriate in the circumstances.

 

When accessing and using the Website and its related subdomains you are prohibited from:

violating any law, statute, ordinance or regulation;

using the Service (or any part of it) for any illegal purpose and you agree to use it in accordance with all relevant laws;

promoting or providing information about illegal activities, promoting physical harm or injury against any group or individual, or promoting any illegal acts;

uploading or transmitting through the Service any computer viruses, macro viruses, Trojan horses, worms or anything other harmful activity;

overriding any security feature of the Website or jeopardise the security of your account or someone else’s account (such as allowing someone else to log in to the Website or use the Service as you);

interfering with the operation of, or places an unreasonable load on, the Website (such as viruses, denial of service attack or gaming algorithms);

using manual or automated software, devices or other means or processes to access, scrape or crawl the Website or any content or information contained in it or the Service;

engaging in ‘framing’, ‘mirroring’, or otherwise simulating the appearance or function of the Website;

removing any copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights notices contained in or on the Website or from the Online Conference;

modifying, creating derivative works or copying or storing any significant portion of the Website or Online Conference or any related technology (unless allowed by law or we expressly authorise);

using filming equipment or other devices to record the Online Conference;

using the Website (or any part of it) in a manner which may result in; (i) the Website and/or the Online Conference being interrupted, damaged, rendered less efficient or such manner designed to interfere with, interrupt or disrupt the normal operating procedures of a computer or Website; (ii) sharing any material which is unlawful, libellous, abusive, obscene, pornographic, discriminatory, harmful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar invasive of another’s privacy, hateful or otherwise objectionable, defamatory, offensive, or of an obscene or menacing character, or that may cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety; (iii) impairing the effectiveness or functionality of the Website or the Online Conference; or (iv) violating or infringing the rights of any person, firm or company (including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights, confidentiality and/ or privacy) of the Website;

attempting to grant any unauthorised access to any part or component of the Website;

copying or distributing any part of the Website in any medium without our prior written consent; and

altering or modifying any part of the Website other than as may be reasonably necessary to use the Website for its intended use; or

reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling deciphering or otherwise attempting to obtain the source code or underlying ideas or information of or relating to the Website or any related technology, or any part thereof unless allowed by law.

We may terminate or restrict your use of our service if you violate these Terms or are engaged in illegal or fraudulent use of the service.

 

Limitation of liability

The Online Conference (including but not limited to: videos, transcripts, audio etc.) is made available and the company does not offer any warranty of any kind, or represent that the Online Conference will be accurate, complete, or error-free. We are not liable for the usage of, implementation of, impact from, or communication of the ideas presented in any element of the Online Conference.

 

Whilst we will use reasonable endeavours to verify the accuracy of any information we place on the website, we make no warranties, whether express or implied in relation to its accuracy.

 

Indemnity

You agree to be fully responsible for (and fully indemnify us against) all claims, liability, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including legal fees, suffered by us and arising out of any breach of the terms by you or any other liabilities incurred by us arising out of your attendance of the Online Conference, or use by any other person accessing the conference using your pc or internet access account.

 

Survival

The clauses of these Terms which by their nature should survive if the Agreement between you and the company is terminated, shall survive such termination. If any provision or provisions of these Terms shall be held to be unenforceable invalid or illegal, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall remain in effect and full force.

 

Force majeure

We are not liable if the Online Conference is, in whole or in part, cancelled, rescheduled or postponed, or for any failure or delay to perform our obligations under these Terms, if such event results from anything beyond our reasonable control (for example (a) power or server outages or issues (b) update or maintenance periods (c) as a result of a war, acts of God, flood, drought, earthquake or other natural disaster; (d) epidemic or pandemic; (e)terrorist attack, civil war, civil commotion or riots, war, threat of or preparation for war, armed conflict, imposition of sanctions, embargo, or breaking off of diplomatic relations; (f) nuclear, chemical or biological contamination or sonic boom; (g) any law or any action taken by a government or public authority; (h) collapse of buildings, fire, explosion or accident; (i) any labour or trade dispute, strikes, industrial action or lockouts; (j) non-performance by suppliers or subcontractors; and (k) interruption or failure of utility service , (l) electronic or communications failure y) or anything else that renders performance of the Online Conference, in whole or in part, impracticable, illegal or impossible.

 

We will take reasonable efforts to provide you with notice of interruption to the Service or Online Conference. Where the Online Service or Services are unavailable for reasons beyond the control of the company, we shall have no liability to you.

 

Tickets and Pricing

You will find details of attendee ticket pricing and fees for the Online Conference here. Ticket prices for the Online Conference are correct at the time of publication.

 

We reserve the right to change the ticket prices at any time but any changes will not affect tickets that have already been purchased.

 

A valid ticket entitles you to access the Online Conference as an Attendee online.

 

Purchasing Tickets

I hereby give my consent for the mandatory and voluntary data collected from me in the course of purchasing and or registering for tickets sold by Investment Events Ltd (and/or other group companies). I further give my permission for my user account details to be stored. I acknowledge that I may provide Investment Events Ltd a reasonable timeframe to remove my details at any time that I no longer wish them to be stored. I acknowledge and accept that my data will be used for commercial purposes in accordance with this Data Protection Policy and Declaration of Consent and will be retained and stored for this purpose. Should you wish your data to be removed you must request Investment Events Ltd to do so in writing. Requests will be processed within a 30-day period.

Online Surveys

I hereby give my consent for Investment Events Ltd to store any voluntary information I may provide in the course of participating in an online survey. I acknowledge and accept that my data will be used for commercial purposes in accordance with this Data Protection Policy and Declaration of Consent and will be retained and stored for this purpose.

 

Discounts

We are not obligated to offer any discounts for the Online Conference and reserve the right to chance or withdraw a discount offer at any time in our sole discretion.

 

Refund and Cancellation

All purchases of tickets for the online conference are non-refundable in their entirety. Your ticket remains the property of Investment Events Ltd and is a personal revocable license, which may be withdrawn, and admission refused at any time upon a refund of the printed registration price.

In the unlikely event of cancellation of  the online conference, the liability of Investment Events Ltd is limited to the share of paid registration fees that remains after credit card and payment processing fees have been incurred and deducted.

It is strictly forbidden for any company, organisation or attendee to attempt to host or organise any event in conjunction with, contiguous to or purporting to be related to the company or its affiliates without the express prior permission and co-operation of Investment Events Ltd. In the event of breach of these terms any tickets purchased will be rendered null and void. Investment Events Ltd reserves their right to take such legal action including a claim for damages as may be appropriate.

The tickets purchased are for your own personal use or that of your business only and may not be re-sold or transferred for commercial gain under any circumstances, including but not limited to use as part of any promotion or competition. Where there has been any re-sale or attempted re-sale of any tickets (or any other breach of this term), we reserve the right to cancel the relevant tickets with immediate effect.

We reserve the right to cancel any ticket purchase made by any person or body whom we reasonably believe to be associated with any ticket broker or tout.

Investment Events Ltd reserves the right to refuse admission to any event or conference for any behaviour, which it deems unacceptable, or for breach of the terms and conditions.

 

Investment Events Ltd will not be responsible for any tickets that are lost or stolen. The unauthorised use of photographic and recording equipment at events and conferences is prohibited. You consent to film and sound recording as attendees at any event or conference.

Investment Events Ltd and its subsidiaries will not be liable for any loss injury or damage to any person or property howsoever caused (save for death or personal injury as a result of Investment Events Ltd’s negligence or for any other type of liability that cannot by law be excluded or limited.)

Investment Events Ltd will not be liable for the granting of any visas that are required to attend any event or conference. In the event that an attendee’s visa is not granted tickets will not be refunded for any event or conference.

If an individual seeks a refund on general attendee tickets that were purchased before their early bird ticket was purchased, Investment Events Ltd will not grant a full refund when the general attendee ticket price has increased beyond the early bird ticket price.

Name changes will be facilitated free of charge. No name changes will be facilitated 7 days prior to the commencement of the event and the ticket price will be forfeited.

In the event that the purchaser is a consumer and to whom the European Directive on Consumer Rights (Directive 2011 / 83/ EU) applies, the consumer would be entitled to a cooling off period of fourteen days which would begin on the day the contract for distance selling was concluded.

Note that the entitlement to a cooling off period of fourteen days is specifically excluded under Article 16 of the European Directive on Consumer Rights (Directive 2011 / 83 / EU) in relation to the sale of hotel rooms.

 

No reselling

The tickets you purchase are for your own personal use and may not be resold under any circumstances, including but not limited to use as part of any promotion or competition. This includes subsidised tickets.

Reselling or otherwise transferring your ticket, not in accordance with the Terms, will void the ticket and the ticket holder will not gain access to the Online Conference. Where there has been any resale or attempted resale of any tickets (or any other breach of this term), we reserve the right to cancel the relevant tickets with immediate effect.

We reserve the right to cancel any ticket purchase made by any person or body whom we reasonably believe to be associated with any ticket reselling or ticket broker.

 

Age limitation

You must be 18 years of age to attend the online conference. Minors may only attend under the supervision of an adult.
